Charging Batteries
Last Updated 1/26/2009
Charge Time
Depending upon the degree of discharge, it can take up to 4 hours to charge the standard battery pack, and up to 6 hours to charge the extended range battery pack.

Overcharging
The charger that comes with your Bike Electrified kit is a smart charger and will prevent battery overcharging. It will shut itself off when your battery pack reaches a full charge, but it is always a good idea NOT to leave your battery pack plugged in all the time. Simply unplug the charger when the light has turned green.

Number of Charges
Your battery pack is built with Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries which can be charged up to about 200 times. However, we recommend you follow certain guidelines to ensure the maximum life from your SLA battery pack. First, ALWAYS charge your batteries up IMMEDIATELY after EVERY use! SLA batteries don't handle being discharged very well, even if only for a few hours, so plug your battery pack into the smart charger IMMEDIATELY after every use. Also, try not to run your batteries completely dead, as this will diminish their life cycle.
